Aurélie, Joy, les bijoux et JAIIO

Aurélie, Joy, jewelry and JAIIO

Aurélie and Joy had a genius idea! Thanks to them, there's no longer any need to go to any trouble to give a second life to designer clothes we no longer wear, and to be able to buy them back in the best conditions. In addition to the website and corners in department stores, last year they opened a pink boutique, where you can feel good about finding incredible pieces, on Rue du Jour in Paris.

They are both part of Band of Sisters , like me, and share many values and the same vision of fashion: timeless, renewable, qualitative and charitable. I wanted to invite them to open their respective jewelry boxes and write their stories together.

"We are Joy and Aurélie, childhood friends since the 6th grade and co-founders of Jaiio . After years of sharing secrets, dreams and… jewelry, we decided to make our project a reality together, and that's how Jaiio was born 4 years ago with a clear vision: to offer everyone the opportunity to empty their wardrobe, without any effort. Thanks to Jaiio , you can now resell the pieces you no longer wear without lifting a finger, because we take care of it for you!

Is jewelry important to you? What is your relationship with jewelry?

Joy and I have always seen jewelry as miniature stories, symbols of significant moments. It's not just an accessory; it's the trace of a memory or an emotion. Whether it's a ring passed down from generation to generation or a bracelet bought on a summer day, each piece has a story to tell, and that's what we love!

Are you more into jewelry or costume jewelry?

Aurélie: Honestly, I really like chic, fancy pieces that will make a statement and that adapt to our outfit or a particular moment. I love accumulating them; it always gives a unique touch to any outfit. But at the same time, I also love timeless pieces, the ones we can wear every day without ever getting tired of. A perfect balance between originality and everyday elegance!

Joy: For me, it's more subtle jewelry. A beautiful minimalist gold ring, but with a little twist. For me, jewelry is like a clean line in a drawing. It's not everything that makes the work, but it changes everything.

Rather old or contemporary?

Aurélie: Oh, a mix of both! I love the idea of wearing an antique piece with a story, but I like to twist it with a more contemporary piece of jewelry. The clash of eras is what makes it so charming.

Joy: Rather timeless for me, with a weakness for jewelry that looks vintage yet modern. It's almost as if the past and the future have met.

Your first memory of jewelry?

Aurélie: A necklace my grandmother gave me when I was 10 years old. It was a small heart-shaped pendant. Simple, but so precious to me. I wore it everywhere, even to the gym!

Joy: For me, it was a plastic ring with a fake diamond, won at a fair. I thought it was so real that I spent a whole day wondering how much it was worth!

The one you never leave?

Aurélie: I have three! My wedding ring of course, a ring given to me by my grandmother that I adore, and a Cartier bracelet that I never take off.

Joy: A bracelet given to me by my friends for my 40th birthday. It's worth all the gold in the world to me. And my wedding ring, of course!

The one that makes you dream?

Aurélie: A simple and elegant piece of jewelry, like a minimalist gold ring with or without a diamond. The kind of timeless piece that I could wear every day, and that would stand the test of time. My dream is to have a piece of jewelry that could be passed down to my daughter one day, saying to her: “This ring has seen so many stories, now it’s your turn to write the next chapter.”

Joy: An antique bracelet with multicolored gemstones that could tell a thousand and one stories. I can see myself wearing it at a fancy dinner party... or in a dream, for now!

Do you believe in lucky charms and protective powers? What's your favorite talisman?

Aurélie: I totally believe in it! My favorite pieces of jewelry are two medallions given to each of my two children, each with their date of birth and a symbol representing them: a four-leaf clover for my daughter and a little elephant for my son. I never take them off.

Joy: Absolutely! For me, it's a chain with a diamond bar that I wear discreetly. I feel like it protects me from bad vibes. And it's working pretty well so far!

What are you wearing today?

Aurélie: I have loads! My necklaces, my rings, and a Hermès leather cuff that I love!

Joy: A revisited suit, comfortable sneakers, and a delicate necklace, a cuff bracelet from Jaiio of course!

What if you had to choose an upcycled BLISS piece?

Aurélie: I would definitely go for the charm bracelet . With a simple outfit, it instantly enhances any look!

Joy: For me, it would be a talisman cluster necklace , which combines antique materials and modern design. A piece of jewelry with soul and character, just like us."
