Guilaine RABAULT, from Hong Kong with love

Guilaine RABAULT, from Hong Kong with love

I have known Guilaine for years, before she left France and changed her life radically.

During my last trip to Hong Kong, I went to discover its French enclave in the heart of the Wong Chuk Hang, and I loved it! You feel good there, pampered, and the selection, like Guilaine, perfectly reflects this dual culture, between contemporary Asian art and attachment to French know-how.

"They call me Gigi, but my real first name is Guilaine. I'm of Breton origin.

I've been living in Hong Kong for 18 years, a city that still surprises me every day and that I love. My first job was a hairstylist, but I've also been a model.

My Guilaine Rabault hairdressing studio and Monarosa eco-conscious concept store were founded six years ago. I'm crazy about travel, culture, decor, materials, linens, and jewelry.

What is your jewelry style?

My first piece of jewelry: my watch. I've always loved fine rose gold jewelry, and now I'm more into oversized jewelry.

Are you more into jewelry or costume jewelry?

I like both, but I have a penchant for jewelry. I'm fascinated by vintage. I find it beautiful even just looking at their gouaches.

Rather old or contemporary?

100% old!

Your first memory of jewelry?

My shock duo: my vintage 1961 Rolex watch and my Oui Dior ring.

The one you never leave?

My Cartier Love bracelet in rose gold and my Pomelato ring in blue sapphires and green chryophine in rose gold.

The one that makes you dream?

The Vintage Cartier Panther ring.

Do you believe in lucky charms and protective powers?

My lucky charm is my positive attitude.

What are you wearing today?

Today, I have a real crush on Bliss, very creative and vintage at the same time. I love the combination of different materials and its nod to the past.

What if you had to choose an upcycled BLISS piece?

The olive wood necklace & rosary associated with an old watch chain, which I treated myself to.
