le VRAI prix des bijoux

the REAL price of jewelry

As the sales approach, I thought it would be interesting to explain to you why, precisely, I don't do them, like more and more local designers and brands.

Firstly for economic reasons.

Mega-sales and repeated promotions, Black Friday, fast-fashion brands, Amazon... remind us of the importance of returning to the notion of the value of a product, the existence of costs, and the need for margins. The reality of a small brand has nothing to do with the giant industry. We cannot compete in terms of price, however, we guarantee an exceptional product, thought, quality, durability, and far superior service.

Let’s dissect what the price of a BLISS piece of jewelry includes:

- old upcycled elements:

Of course the prices differ depending on the material, the period or the rarity of the pieces selected. In addition to the price paid for a chain or a medal, hunting requires a lot of time, patience, but also travel, to go to second-hand dealers, garage sales, flea markets.

-the purchase of new, European, quality elements, the price of which is obviously higher than fancy brass purchased in bulk in Asia.

-the time spent cleaning or repairing parts, sorting jewelry, preparing a work plan and above all, the time spent on meticulous assembly work. For certain pieces of jewelry, particularly for drop earrings, there are so many parts to assemble that it takes well over 1 hour to complete.

- photo sessions on my famous stone background, photoshoots of worn jewelry, and retouching, before their distribution on e-shop or on Instagram.

-the search for clients, collaboration opportunities, the animation of a network, in addition to the time spent preparing pop-ups and meeting you there, exciting days always full of meetings but which require a lot of effort 'energy.

-equipment with jewelry tools, camera, various software...

Without revealing everything, all this represents a gigantic amount of work when you are alone on board, and I no longer count my hours of reflection, which could also be counted as intellectual production.

And if you want to be profitable, that is to say, receive the fruit of your labor, you have to add a margin. And asking us to reduce it by offering sales is simply to prevent us from living it to the fullest, from being proud of it and from being able to develop it. However, the prices of my jewelry are designed to be fair and affordable, all year round.

product sourcing

And then of course, for ethical reasons.

It seems fairer to me to offer well-calculated prices so that they are accessible throughout the year, rather than inflating margins and cutting prices 2 months a year, and causing an emergency effect in purchases. . Manipulating prices is a bit like manipulating your customers, it causes a...

Among the most common scams spotted, that of the reference price is one of the most recurring. The principle is simple: display an open price much higher than the original price of the product, all accompanied by a significant reduction.

Too often, the sales offered by major brands are disguised. Sometimes it is no longer a question of selling off the end of stocks but rather of increasing them in view of sales, with lower quality for certain products to reduce prices.

And then sales also actively contribute to over-consumption. 47% of clothing, shoes, bags and other household linens are purchased on promotion (20% during sales, 27% during one-off operations), according to Kantar Worldpanel. In this ready-to-throw commercial logic established for several years, the impression of getting a good deal by buying more has become common.

make friday freen again

It is for this reason that I chose to join the collective Make Friday Green Again , whose main action takes place on the day of the famous Black Friday, and aims to raise awareness among consumers of the importance of returning to normal functioning. , all year. There are now more than 600 of us committed to not offering promotions during Black Friday, and to promoting healthier consumption to fight climate change.

No sales at BLISS therefore, but occasional reductions on old models (what we now call Archives, it looks more chic), and above all thanks. Because if you are kind enough to help me develop by talking about my work on Instagram, Facebook or by giving your opinion on Google, it seems normal to me to thank you by offering you a reduction.

If you didn't know, going back through the Google pages, which is necessary, comes, among other things, from the number of reviews we obtain. It only takes 2 minutes, and it's a process that has a real impact for BLISS.

So, will you help me? Click here . Once the review is posted, you will receive a 20% discount code on the e-shop. And that’s totally fair, reasonable and it makes me happy!
