Marine de Quénetain is a passionate and committed artist, she imagines illustrations with a universe all her own, inspired by Parisian life, her love of nature, her childhood in Paris, within a Franco-Finnish family. Her fame exploded on Instagram thanks to her iconic design, the “dream shelf,” and she collaborated with numerous beauty and fashion brands. which reflect its values of inclusiveness and ecological responsibility.
We have in common that we are graduates of ESAG Penninghen , that we are both members of Band of Sister and that we advocate eco-responsibility (her plates of seasonal vegetables and flowers are as delicate as they are educational). We also share a certain taste for Vintage that Marine masters wonderfully in her looks as in her illustrations.
She agreed to share not only her journey and artistic inspirations, but also her affection for jewelry, which represents for her much more than an accessory, but a true form of personal expression.
"I'm Marine, an illustrator specializing in fashion and beauty. I'm a mother of two and I'm expecting my third on the first day of summer.
Is jewelry important to you? What is your relationship with jewelry?
Yes, it's very important. I love adding jewelry just before a date, dinner, or a night out. Without it, I feel naked; it completely finishes off my looks. I find that jewelry enhances your look and gives you character and originality.
Are you more into jewelry or costume jewelry?
Both! I really like jewelry pieces but I also like to have fun with fantasy that I find at Dear Charlotte , Titya Ravy , I also like old vintage clip-on earrings that I find in flea markets or that my mother-in-law gives me
Rather old or contemporary?
I like both. For example, my wedding ring is vintage; the diamond was found and then mounted by a jeweler. My watch is a vintage Baume & Mercier that I stole from my father.
Your first memory of jewelry?
My first memory of jewelry is Brazilian bracelets, I spent a few summers of my adolescence making a lot of them and I liked having lots of them on my wrists
The one you never leave?
Cliché! My engagement ring, my wedding band. My signet ring and my Van Cleef necklace.
The one that makes you dream?
The Cartier bathtub bracelet watch. Also a Mellerio ring, a Viltier bracelet and the Jelly ring by Inès de La Fressange for white Bird , a Bliss Paris necklace too, of course.
Do you believe in lucky charms and protective powers? What's your favorite charm?
Yes, I always wear my Rue du Bac Miraculous Medal, either as a necklace or a bracelet. It protects me.
What are you wearing today?
A large vintage Biche de Bere necklace.
What if you had to choose an upcycled BLISS piece?
2 favorites: Lasso necklace with enameled medal of the Virgin , the Saint Therese ring
