Virgine RASMONT, shapes and colors of femininity

I have the pleasure of opening with you the jewelry box of Virginie Rasmont, a visual artist committed to women's health. Between her unique creations and her artistic and feminist work, Virginie continues to evolve her creativity and has just imagined a Podcast, "Living your body" , born from the desire to tell, to put words to our bodies at a time when they are still too often defined by images, by numbers, by standards, by norms or even by injunctions .

Our paths have crossed for years, from our shared experience at L'Oréal to our membership in the collective Band of Sisters , a community of passionate and committed women, for whom she created a magnificent silk scarf to benefit the Gustave Roussy Institute. Sharing an artistic sensibility, feminist values, and a quest for meaning, our exchanges are always a source of enrichment.

Discover with me the vibrant and poetic world of Virginie.

"Virginie Rasmont, I am a visual artist! I create works on paper, murals, and performances. The female body is at the center of my approach.

Is jewelry important to you? What is your relationship with jewelry?
Very important. I wear few and always the same ones. They each have a story and a connection to someone very dear to my heart. I believe that my maternal grandmother and my mother greatly inspired me in this relationship with jewelry. They also owned few, but they were only beautiful pieces given by loved ones to anchor important moments in life.

Are you more into jewelry or costume jewelry?
Jewelry without hesitation. I love beautiful objects that last over time, that I can one day pass on and that can be passed on in turn, and so on. In an era where we zap and get bored, I advocate for sustainability. After all, the concept of sustainability is completely compatible with quality costume jewelry :-)

Rather old or contemporary?
Rather contemporary but this may be changing...

Your first memory of jewelry?
A ring given to me by my maternal grandmother for my 18th birthday.

The one you never leave?
This famous ring given to me by my maternal grandmother for my 18th birthday.

The one that makes you dream?
A Buccelatti ring, the absolute dream!

Do you believe in lucky charms and protective powers? What's your favorite talisman?
I like the idea that a piece of jewelry carries within it a part of the soul of the person who previously wore it or the person who gave it as a gift.

Virginie Rasmont jewelry What are you wearing today?
A Cartier ring given to me by my maternal grandmother, whom I mentioned earlier. Two Hermès bracelets given to me by a very dear person. An unbranded jade bangle passed down by my paternal grandmother. A custom-made ring for my 30th birthday, given to me and my father.

What if you had to choose an upcycled BLISS piece?
Tough question! I would say the Pale Pink and Rose Quartz Rosary Necklace.
